Why You Don't Make Money Online

I've been around the make money online world for almost five years now. I find it super interesting that there are literally tens of thousands of groupies who read make money online blogs, and don't make money themselves.

Honestly, I find it pretty sad that people don't value their time. For the most part they run around seeking a high that comes from reading a great post, but don't put anything into practice.

If you don't make money online, there's probably a reason and the most common reason for not making money online is that you don't like to work. You probably think you work really hard each day because you think that 'research' is work. Research is research and work is work. If you can't get yourself to add content to your sites or ask other sites to link to your sites, you're not going to make money online and you might as well stop wasting your time.

There are tons of great sites that teach you how to make money using the internet, but in order to actually make money, you have to stop reading and start working.

What You Have To Do To Make Money Online

I want you to take an honest look at what you usually work on during the day. How many pieces of unique content do you produce each day? How many sites do you ask to link to your content each day? My guess is that you post on your blog every once in a while and you spend a ton of time 'researching'.

If you want to be a major player in the game of making money online you will have to change your habits. You have to create sites, create new pages, and link to those sites and pages.

If you will wake up every single morning thinking that you're going to make money online instead of just learning HOW to make money online I bet you'll actually start to make something. I want you to promise right now that from now on you're going go spend less than 10% of your time reading and researching. The rest will be spent creating new sites, writing content, and buildilng links.

Some People Know Nothing And Still Make Money

I have a few roommates who actually know very little about making money with the internet, but make more than most bloggers. The reason for this is simple - they don't question what they learn. They work and over time their efforts pay off. Most people that read blogs think that they need to understand every single detail before they do anything. Since they never understand every detail they never do anything.

If you really want to learn to make money online, you need to follow the example of my roommates. Get to work, create content, and build links.

Sometimes you just have to dig in instead of continuing to research and research. You'll learn more and will be a lot more confident in what you learn if you have practical knowledge and do your own testing!

I must admit that I am even guilty of reading/researching and not "doing" quite often, and I've been at this for almost 6 years. Thanks for the boost, it's back to work for me now!

Reminds me of that saying, "the harder I work, the luckier I get!"

You are right in that all the research in the world won't get the work done.

(Said by a person who spends way to much time researching and not enough time working!)

It really is as easy as you say. If you've optimized your content, it's simply doing the real business of making money online, and that's building backlinks.

What else do you have to read about?

Yep, "analysis paralysis" is a killer, especially with internet marketing.

Yup, I've been guilty of this in the past as well. I always have to stop myself from buying the latest and greatest IM product, and keep focusing on my existing projects.

You are so.....right! Staying focused enough to build those sites with content and links back to it is work. I find myself straying from my goals each and every day. I will work harder at focusing on what makes me money.

You're absolutely correct.   I used to be a constant reader of "how to make money online stuff".  But after finding your website (which led me to here), I've started spending my time building content and links.  Great article as usual.  I look forward to additional information that helps me do it better.

To be frank, I am in such a situation. But I could not say that I have not worked. I worked really hard. But all were some mistakes that I committed as a newbie. I console myself that It is quite natural in the beginning of online money making journey.

You are 100% right, I did nothing but research for about 6 weeks, then finally kicked myself up the ar$3 and said enough is enough.. If you don't apply what you learn then there is no point in learning it in the first place!

I'm also guilty of just reading and researching, try to find out every little thing before I start, but it's true what you said: Start doing it!
